A point repeatedly emphasized by influential LSSU Photojournalism professor John Shibley was the importance of including people when shooting an event, in order to not only show an observer how humanity interacts with an environment, but also so that the viewer may be able to more readily access the experience himself by imagining himself in place of the subject.

With this collection, scenes of natural landscapes are peppered with individuals, begging humankind to see themselves as specimens existing in a larger scope.
